Bristle Cone Nursery, owned by the Scholtz family, started by Leon and Elize Scholtz, and later welcoming their Son Dewald Scholtz and his wife Michelle to the dynamic team. Bristle Cone is set in the Cradle of Humankind (North West Province) in the Skeerpoort, Hartbeeshoek. 

We specialise in unusual and popular plants, ranging from cold, hardy, exotic and indigenous, to water wise and desert plants. We are leaders in growing a wide range of colour plants to the retail industry. 

We have been growing and breeding plants for over 40 years! 

In 2008, we added our Brits Farm to our business to give us completely different growing conditions than what we experience on our Hartbeeshoek Farm. This farm is headed up by Dewald Scholtz where he focusses mainly on various ranges of plants that gets grown for the season ahead. 

Contract growing is also a main feature of our Brits Farm.
